Join AMBA in Manufacturing Day

In celebration of manufacturers that work to engage young people in the moldmaking industry, the AMBA will host its first annual “Educational Outreach Contest.” This Manufacturing Day, Oct. 7, AMBA will recognize one member company with an award and $2,000 scholarship for a school or program of its choice.

To enter, email Shelby Trusty at strusty@amba.org with at least one of the following:

  • A description of how your company is working with local schools, programs or students to raise awareness and build interest in the moldmaking industry
  • Photos from events your company has attended or hosted to raise awareness or build skills in young people in your community
  • A video showing/explaining your company’s educational outreach efforts

Submissions are due no later than Friday, Sept. 23.

New Pricing for AMBA Skill Certification

The AMBA is pleased to extend new, lower pricing on the AMBA Skills Certification tests for AMBA members. Pricing is $35 for the Primary Skills test and $50 for the Master Moldmaker and CNC Technician tests. The new pricing will allow members to utilize the tests more cost effectively in a number of ways, including gauging levels of expertise, tracking training progress and identifying skill gaps within their organizations. Additionally, for passing scores, plaques and/or certificates of recognition are available to order separately from the tests. To order the AMBA Skills Certification tests, visit www.amba.org.

Plant Tour Workshop at Superior Tooling Inc.

AMBA Announces Scholarship Winners

The national office of the American Mold Builders Association (AMBA), Indianapolis, Indiana, recently awarded $5,000 in scholarship funds for 2016. Each year, the AMBA awards scholarships to the employees or dependents of employees of AMBA member companies. The scholarship program is designed to help facilitate education in moldmaking in the US.

The 2016 AMBA national Scholarship Program awarded $1,000 to the following recipients:
