Mold-Masters® Reduces Stack Height of PET-Series Hot Runner System

10/23/2024 by lindsey

Press release submitted on behalf of Mold-Masters.

Mold-Masters®, Georgetown, Ontario, a leading developer and supplier of hot runners, controllers, auxiliary injection, and co-injection systems, has optimized the design of its PET-Series hot runner system to reduce its stack height to 260mm on systems with 72 cavities or less using standard components.

Traditionally, more compact stack heights required a 2-platen design. The PET-Series, however, maintains its 3-platen design to preserve all the advantages associated with that configuration. The 3-platen design, specifically for PET applications, helps improve geometric thermal balancing and reduce plate bowing to enhance preform quality.

By offering a more compact stack height, molders can run the system on a wider range of machines, including older generations, that have stack height limitations of 260mm. Minimum nozzle pitch of the PET-Series is not affected and remains the same as regular 3-plate designs.

Mold-Masters PET-Series is a hot runner system optimized for high-performance production of 2-stage PET preforms. The PET-Series enhances preform quality while increasing productivity. It’s compatible with any major brand of pet-preform mold and available in a wide range of industry standard configurations. Custom configurations are also available upon request.
