After careful consideration, the American Mold Builders Association (AMBA) Board of Directors has made the decision to cancel AMBA Conference 2020 this year in light of developments related to the COVID-19 situation. The conference was originally scheduled for April 29 – May 1, 2020, Indianapolis, Indiana, at the Hyatt Regency Downtown.
The Association cited the health and welfare of its members, their families and the mold building industry as a whole as its greatest concern, underscoring the Board’s decision to cancel the conference in 2020 rather than postpone it to later this fall. Other industry events already scheduled during the upcoming fall season also made it difficult to find a suitable alternative date in 2020.
The AMBA will move forward with an e-event on April 30, 2020, which will include some of the elements typically shared at the annual conference. This e-event will be offered at no cost to all AMBA members. For further details and registration information, AMBA members can visit AMBA.org/Events. Additionally, AMBA has created a members-only COVID-19 resource hub, which includes upcoming webinars, company procedures and more.
“Although we are disappointed that our members and other industry professionals will not be able to meet as an entire group at the conference, the safety of our membership is paramount. We look forward to the opportunity to introduce new, value-driven virtual opportunities where members can connect, share and impact their bottom lines,” said Kym Conis, AMBA managing director. “We are also very excited to shift our focus to plans for the AMBA Conference 2021, February 17-19, in Grand Rapids, Michigan, where we have the opportunity to make programming and attendance more robust than ever.”
AMBA will continue with other events it currently has planned later this year, including a Leadership Experience for young professionals and other plant tour workshops. As the COVID-19 situation progresses, the AMBA will continue to share event updates through its Events calendar at AMBA.org.
